Board of Directors 

The current Board of Directors has extensive experience governing at major government approved accredited universities. The institution is extremely fortunate to have several senior directors and administrators of major universities in Korea which have existing highly respected doctoral programs in Oriental medicine.


The Chairman of the Board, Jung Nyun Kim earned a B.A. in Philosophy from Dong-A University in Busan, Korea and an MA degree in Buddhism Welfare Sociology from Dongguk University in Seoul. Among his current professional activities is as Abbot of the Naewonjungsa Temple, Director of the Molundae Social Welfare Center; Chairman of the Foundation of Naewon Teenagers Association and founder of the Maha Rehabilitation Hospital. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Dongguk University in Seoul, South Korea. He plays a leadership role in all aspects of higher executive fiscal and organizational planning, administration, development and evaluation of seven educational institutions. As Chairman, he oversees a multi-million dollar budget and supervises a staff of ten executive level administrators that report directly to him. His professional experience in university administration enables him to provide valuable working knowledge to the Chairman position in developing the direction and implementation of plans of DULA.


Dr. Young-Kyo Oh is the current President of Dongguk University in Seoul. His educational background includes a Bachelors and Masters in Business Administration Degree from Korea University Among his previous positions are: Minister of Government Administration and Home Affairs; Presidential Advisor on Government Reform, President and CEO of the Korea Trade Investment Promotion Agency; Vice minister of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy among many other prestigious and highly respected posts.


Dr. Jae Keun Park, PhD. earned the B.A. in Buddhism, M.P.A. and M.S.S. (Master of Social Services) degrees from DU. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of the Do Sun Temple Missionary Board in Seoul, South Korea. Among his previous affiliations are: Full-Time Lecturer at Chung-Ang Buddhist College; Chancellor of Jung-Ang Buddhist College; Chairman of the Do Sun Temple Missionary Board, Chief Master of the Kae Woon Buddhist Temple; Member of the Korean Buddhist Broadcasting Company Board of Directors; Deputy Chairman of the Jo-Gye Buddhist Federation of Korea Central Council.


Fei Sun currently serves as Clinical Supervisor of the DRU Oriental Medical Center ("OMC"). From January 2004 to February 2006, Dr. Sun served the Dean of the OMC. In 1990, he earned a Bachelors Degree in Traditional Chinese medicine from Beijing United University. In 1995, he received a Masters Degree in Oriental Medicine from Royal University. Prior to joining DRU, Dr. Sun served as an instructor and Clinic supervisor at both Samra University and Emperor's College of Traditional Chinese Medicine.


Jay Kyung Kim, B.S. is the Public Member on the DRU Board of Directors. He is an alumnus of DU (Class of 1969) and is a renowned community and business leader in the Korean American community in Los Angeles. He currently serves as the Chair of the DU Alumni Association of North America and Korea-U.S. Exchange Association. He is a co-founder and Director on the Mime Bank of Los Angeles Board of Directors. He has extensive experience in small business operating three successful businesses.


Christine Lee has practiced law since 1982. She received BA in Diplomacy and World Affairs from Occidental College and JD from the University of Southern California. Her legal practice includes international transactions; corporate transactions; and family based & employment based immigration law. She is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States and all California Courts including the California Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She has affinity towards students because she believes students hold hope for our future. She has been serving on the Board of Directors of the Korean American Scholarship Foundation for the past 29 years.
